ON THIS DAY

Connor sent out his newest version of the website... amazing. so excited. really got me pumped for launch!

I mainly took care of written stuff today: Vonage proposal (our ideas for Vonage shorts), episode blurbs for the website.

tomorrow I shall finish my final edits on the shorts and hopefully get those to Nyle (I think that's how you spell it for audio). launch is sooooooon!

GROUP EDITING

on monday, James and i set up a little editing system at the boys' place so we could watch the edits and they could make suggestions. they seemed pretty happy with the edits all the while so I didn't think anything would come from this besides just looking at the not used takes.

BUT

we got a LOT out of this! we've only done James' episodes but WOW, we changed quite a bit and all for the better for sure.

tomorrow's a big day, meetings at the office, meetings with the boys in Hamilton. it will be an entire day of Skittlebrau from morning till sleep time.

FUN...... I can't finish my lasagna...

WRITING THE "REVERSE INTERVENTION"

when we were together last it was decided that our "Hiccups" was to be a never to be seen pilot episode. I personally think it's fine (not half as good as the others, but the others are so good that half of em is still pretty good!) that being said, if the actors don't like their performances, there is nothing I can say to that no matter how much I try to convince them otherwise.

so I said I was going to write a new episode. after we kicked it around for a while, everyone agreed the idea of doing a reverse intervention would be pretty funny.

Kyle, James and I hung out for 20 mins after the meeting and beat out the story. easy! I told everyone I would have a draft out like the next day, cause I mean the beating was so easy!

WOOOOOOOOOOW. I got right to writing, but it just wasn't happening. A fews days past and nothing.

Today I sat down, not intending to write and it just all came out... and seems pretty ok. it needs to shed a few lines, but for the most part I'd go to camera with it!

it's the whole outside pov thing that I learned with "WOMD" (just so happens the spectator in that video is Jamie Parkhill (who plays K-Hype), he whiteness' a fight and gets sprayed with the blood from a ripped off arm)), have a character there who's totally out of their element and don't pay much attention to him until BAM, punch line. the punch line and subtleness of the character isn't as good as WOMD but it's still the same idea.

some of this stuff is starting to make sense.... but so much of it still does not!

IT'S ALL COMING TOGETHER

Connor and I have been going back and forth today on the website and wow, are we ever getting somewhere! I am so excited to launch this cause it's going to be amazing!!!! exactly what I was thinking!

I'm loving this Vonage thing! I keep getting emails from the Skittlebrau boys with different ideas for their characters! the King even called me!

A RELAXING DAY OF EDITING

tomorrow is a big, exciting day!!! the brau meets the producers and we can all move forward as a team! this mutha's gonna launch and launch huge time!

today was a nice easy day. just sat and cut shorts shorts and re-touched a bit of the shorts.

Connor had the wicked idea of having "Skittlevision" so I'm thinking we run the vids on the site as if they were on "Skittlevision". I'm liking this as the still before someone selects a video:

GRASSROOTS LAUNCH

my girl friend, Lovely Laila, works for Maple Pics and does a lot of publicity and promotions. she knows everyone I need to hook up with to make a grassroots ground swell!

she and I just got back from a basketball game (we kicked f'n butt!) and had a chat about launch this fucker on a grass roots level. everything from promo items (rolling papers, condoms, sample DVD's and CD's) to college tours (she knows all the campus reps!).

before I felt bad if we were to set up the grassroots stuff up, cause the band was gonna just have to play ball and do it for the sake of it paying off later.... but thanks to vonage, they shall get the $!

after thurs, everyone's gonna get real excited. real excited.

WHEN 3 BECOME 1

thankkkkkkkk the lordy! finally, I don't have to be the middle man! ya see there are three groups involved in this project:

1. Skittlebrau the band (Connor, Bob, Ben and Jamie)

2. James Heaslip and Matthew Lochner

3. Georgian Entertainment (Raj, Zark and Bolton)

for the last 6 months, I haven't minded for a second being the middle man. it was simple, no real worries. the second $$$$ was mentioned, things got nutty!!!! ahhhhhhh. there are so many questions from both sides that I just can't answer.

however, it has happened, the two sides shall meet for the no holds bared, ask any question, meet and greet on thursday!!!! whoop whoop! I think that Thursday will be the biggest day in Skittlebrau history, cause everyone will be onside and we'll move together as one unified team for the first time!!!!!

thank the lordy, cause i was developing a hell of an ulser from this business!

SELL OUT

it's funny because the way I thought this was going to work was: we finish everything, launch everything, then we have a product to find potential sponsors...

well things have heated up before we've even dropped a single video. Vonage has come on board with some money to fully sponsor us. this is mind blowing obviously, to think something we made for like $500 is turning into a $ making machine, but it's also scary for two reasons:

1. they aren't coming in on something that they've seen and loved, they're going to see this from the debut, which means we need to deliver! what if they hate it? ahhhhh!

2. we're selling out before we've even started. this is a big thing, especially since we're making something about musicians, the whole "struggling artists" typa thing. BUT that being said, maybe it's good to be a sell out from square one, so later on no one knows us any different.

we had a meeting last night with the band to talk about this, cause obviously they need to be down if we're going to move forward. Connor's poor and apparently Ben would sell his first born... as long as it wasn't McDonalds. so they get it, they're smart dudes.

how do I feel? I really don't care. I'm excited something I've been apart of from day one is making money, I'm excited to give the band $ for the hard work they did and I'm excited to pay rent.

it became official yesterday: Skittlebrau Inc. has been created to accept funding for the show!!! our producer, Chris Szarka, put up the dough to make it happen, cause it looks like there's some dough that's about to come pouring in! more on that as the info becomes available!

THE "BIG TIME" COULD BE CLOSE

I was partying in Barrie yesterday when I received what could be the biggest news of my entire life to date.... I started shaking... part of me wanted to cry...
